TSTC (Texas State Technical College) located in Abilene has been awarded a four million dollar grant  from the state of Texas that will help fund their digital program offered to students over the next five years.

Because Texas State Technical College is the only state that offers a degree in Digital Signage and this grant will allow the college to build a new art studio to continue in this everchanging technology.

This lab will create a chance for the students to grow with the latest technology in graphical design and digital signage. It should be ready by fall to allow new and returning students to participate.

Digital signage is a form of electronic display that shows information, advertising and other messages. Digital Signage Displays are most usually controlled by basic Personal Computers by way of proprietary software programs, avoiding any large capital outlays for the controller equipment.

Texas State Technical College was established in 1965 as the James Connally Technical Institute (JCTI) of Texas A&M University to meet the state's evolving workforce needs. TSTC is the only state-operated system of two-year colleges in Texas.
