Local Abilene Businesses and Non-Profit organizations offer help for those that need extra assistance in paying utility bills.

When the temperature drops outside the heating bill for inside can really sky rocket. For those that need a little extra help there are several places that provide that little push to help keep the heat on.

The Salvation Army has long since been noted for holiday giving and good cheer but they are also turning their attention to the much needed utilities of those in the Abilene area.

The City Light Ministries and the local United Mehodist Service center are also helping folks with more than just utilities. They are also providing assistance with perscriptions, bus passes and other necessities.

Although the process is emotionally taxing especially when not everyone can be helped the stack of financial aid applicants gets sifted through and processed as much as possible.
